About

helloHi, I’m Natalie. I recently graduated from Oxford University, and now I’m living a double life in London. By day I’m a graduate trainee, learning all there is to know about advertising and communications. But, by night, I’m a designer.

Why have I decided to live this double life? Well, it’s simple: I love designing. I don’t think I could stop if I tried. I truly believe beautiful things really do work better.

Do good work over what’s easy, right?

Or, at least, that’s the idea. I’m trying to follow three principles to get me through this attempt to be a super low-key batman: keep it simple, have fun, and work your butt off.

This blog is a catalogue of what inspires me, what motivates me, my process and my work, and, perhaps more importantly, all of the things I’ve learned the hard way so you don’t have to.

So, keep your eyes peeled.

WHAT’S IN A NAME?

The thinking behind the name of this blog was made up of three parts, just like the name itself. These are those three parts.

#1 Choosing work over what’s easy

This is the main thinking behind the title as its the crux of the content of this blog. I’m all about being productive, even when its not the easy option, because I know I’ll feel better afterwards.

#2 Work’s over – easy!

The feeling when you accomplish something and it was way easier than you thought it would be.

#3 I like breakfast foods

Eggs over easy became work over easy.

That’s it: short, sweet, simple and in a triad because all English students know that all good things come in threes.
